Lyttelton Engineering has been an integral part of the Port of Lyttelton since 1953. The present private company was formed in 1991 and is now one of Canterbury’s largest engineering companies and has proven itself to be one of the province’s leading marine and industrial/fabrication facilities.

Our collective experience and expertise in ship repair, boiler manufacture and repair, steel fabrication and machining, and site installation and maintenance work has firmly positioned us at the forefront of these industries.
The company operates on a truly hands on philosophy and has all the necessary resources to take overall responsibility for the range of projects and contracts that we undertake, from initial design concepts through to completion and operational support. The business is structured to undertake work in 3 different areas.

These are ship repairs, heavy steel fabrication & machining and industrial site work. Major specialist products within these areas include boiler manufacture, installation and servicing, supply of ski lifts and aerial ropeways, and the manufacture and installation of modular aluminium stairs and walkways.
